Kenya
Explore Kenya’s magnificent wildlife reserves and learn about conservation efforts in partnership with local tribal communities to protect the graceful elephants, incredible white and black rhinos and regal big cats. Wait for herds of elephants to pass in front of your jeep in the striking “land of white dust” at Amboseli national park, in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro. Visit a "boma" or village in the Maasai Mara, learn about Maasai culture, community organizing and artisanry, including the iconic beaded jewelry. Embark on a “game drive” amidst herds of thousands of wildebeest and zebras making the great migration from Tanzania. Witness vibrant African music and dance at Nairobi’s Boma cultural center.

Tanzania
Visit the Ngorongoro Crater, a volcanic caldera considered to be the world’s eighth natural wonder, and home to tens of thousands of wild grazers as well as numerous lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas. Explore Serengeti National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, best known for its vast herds of animals, especially wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles. Meet the women of our community partner organization who are tackling food insecurity and making it possible for girls to get an education. Visit a traditional Hadzabe hunter-gatherer village and go out in the bush to learn how to live from the land. Experience the beauty and strength of Maasai culture and traditions in a traditional Maasai Boma and purchase gorgeous beadwork to support local artisans.

Zanzibar
Visit the gorgeous and historic “Spice Island”, once the center of a vibrant trade route with Persia and India. Tour a local spice farm redolent with cloves, cinnamon, turmeric, nutmeg, cardamom, and ginger root. Relax on Zanzibar’s pristine white-sanded coast. Encounter giant Aldabra tortoises on an island sanctuary only accessible by private boat. Swim with turtles and follow dolphins on a “Blue Safari” in the Indian Ocean and take a boat to Zanzibar’s sparkling lagoons. Explore ancient Stone Town, and pay homage to African captives who were incarcerated on Prison Island and sold at the “Slave Market”, now site of a moving memorial.
